Explorer's Program

What it take to be a Douglas County Sheriff's Office Explorer.

Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Explorers program is part of Learning for Life (LFL) which is underneath the umbrella of scouting. We recruit ages 14-20. It’s a great program to learn about law enforcement, train with deputies and to volunteer with the agency during community events.

Explorers also get the opportunity to:

  • Learn about jobs in patrol, the jail, and other areas of the office
  • Help other law enforcement agencies
  • Participate in regional and tactical competitions
  • Volunteer throughout the community
  • Meet other explorers and law enforcement officials around the country
